Dr. Brian A. Pollok, Ph.D. founded Propagenix Inc. in 2013 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Dr. Pollok serves as the President at American Type Culture Collection Inc. Prior to that, Dr. Pollok served as Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Global Research & Development at Life Technologies Corporation (also known as Invitrogen Corp.). Dr. Pollok was been with Invitrogen since November 2003, previously serving as Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Global R&D, and Vice President of R&D for its Discovery Sciences unit in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to joining Invitrogen, he was Senior Vice President of Research and co-founder at Ansata Therapeutics. Dr. Pollok has over 20 years career experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He also served as Vice President of Discovery Biology at Aurora Biosciences Corporation in San Diego/Vertex Pharmaceuticals from 1997 to 2002, as a Senior Research Investigator at Pfizer Central Research from 1993 to 1997 and as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest University from 1987 to 1993. He served as President of ATCC, and as the Entrepreneuri-In-Residence for the University of Virginia. Dr. Pollok is a member of the Virginia BIO Advisory Council, a member of the University of Virginia Licensing and Ventures Board, and is a member of the Translational Research Committee of FSMA. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal ASSAY, and is an advisor for several non-profit disease organizations and the NIH. He was recipient of an American Cancer Society Faculty Research Award and an Arthritis Foundation Investigator Award. He held a Damon Runyon Cancer Fund postdoctoral fellowship while at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia. Dr. Pollok received his B.A. in biology and chemistry from the University of Virginia, and his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
