Tempeasy Wins Best New High Protein Food and Closing Pre-Seed Round

Foodtech startup TempEasy and our Voices of Tomorrow competition 2018 winner, was recently awarded the Bridge2Food Plant-based Protein Innovation Awards 2018 in the category “Best New High Protein Food & Beverage” for its first product - a protein-rich tempeh crisp!

The winners of the Bridge2Food Protein Awards were announced at the 11th Protein Summit 2018 on 24-26 October in Lille, the world’s largest protein platform that brings together more than 450 protein experts. The leading international event is aimed at accelerating industry responses to the pressing issue of finding sustainable sources of protein.

The “Best New High Protein Food & Beverage” category was judged based on the degree of innovation demonstrated by a product, and what added value it offers to consumers in terms of nutrition, taste, and mouthfeel. Startups that competed for the award were also judged on their commercial viability and the strength of their founding team.

Coming off this recent success, TempEasy has been actively fundraising a pre-seed round and has already secured more than 50% of their target.

Based in London, they are currently looking for advisors and investors to join them on their journey. In particular, they are looking for investors with experience in the food industry or green-tech focused venture capital.

They will use the funds to accelerate R&D, secure IP, expand their product range, and scale up production; all of which will put TempEasy in a great position to capitalise on the growing demand for plant-based meat substitutes.
